Common Blue Butterfly... (+ repost)
Taken back in May there were a few of these just coming to roost in the long grass stems. I never get bored of these little ones, they are fascinating with some amazing colour on the wing or just resting like this one.

Have a good day folks.

Good quality image Brett from a technical standpoint :toast:

The subject is a bit out of position though - perhaps slightly lower and a little left?? I'm not sure to be honest - I'd have perhaps shot it "portrait" myself.

All strictly IMHO of course:wink:

Thanks Andy,

I appreciate this comp isn't for everyone and I will look at my other images for different comps on the 'landscape' theme, I do have a 'few'.. But in the meantime, here is one to be going on with in the 'portrait' theme as suggested..

Cheers,

Brett :wavey:

Really like both of them and your chosen DOF producing a very crisp image!
Well done!

Like both of them Brett, for me the second was is the best because of the angle of the subject and the composition, the colours on the butterfly stand out so well against the BG,nice work...again   :wavey:

Both very fine and graphic images Brett! I like the second one a little better because of the diagonal framing but the first one has a very intersting composition as well, the empty space in that one is really intersting! :wavey: :toast:

I can appreciate them both as they each have their merits. Very nice work indeed.

Good one Brett. The re-post is my favourite of the two. :toast:

Hello Brett.

Like the vertical better but find the processing better on the fisrt one, as you seem to be a bit bright and the bottom part of the butterfly is starting to burn out.

Both good but the second pips it for me.
Good for 800 ISO too!

I like the horizantal one better. Just personal preference, but the background color makes the butterfly stand out more in the first one.

Like the second better Brett, When you dont want it its there and in this case just feel an addition of a bit of leaf or similar would then not make the Butterfly quite so lonesome.
Lovely delicate shot all the same. :toast:
