I returned to the place in Arlington, TX, where I captured the hummer resting between flower engagements. This morning I captured it in mid-flight. I had to clean up some extraneous blooms and stems in the bottom left that were OOF and distracting. I should have upped the f/stop to f/8 or so to keep everything in focus!

Here is another shot of this beautiful creature. Once again I had to clone out some blooms that were impinging upon the subject. Incidently, these appear NOT to be Ruby Throats, but Black Chinned Hummingbirds. Notice the bluish-purple spots on the chin of the post above. That suggests an immature male. The white spot behind the eye is also suggestive of the Black Chinned Hummer.
Can I ask a personal question do you wear your glasses when taking photo's? My reason for asking I have bifocals for reading and computer and I'm thinking this could be a factor in my lack of sharpness in some of my results. So a somewhat selfish question for which I do apologise.

Barry - No honest question is ever inappropriate. Yes, I wear tri-focals and they are a problem at times when shooting . . . but I manage somehow. Mostly, I fail to see the whole image in the viewfinder only to discover some "O my gosh" stuff in the final result. Clarity-wise I don't have that much problem with wearing glasses when shooting.
