Its been a while since I've posted anything or left any comments although I have dropped in occasionally, apologies for not being a better participant! The dreaded work has too often interfered with my time! But with a load of stuff finished off recently I dusted off the lens and inspired by all the great butterfly stuff on here thought I'd better try and improve my macro images.
So here's what I got. Its been quite windy here but there were some spots in more sheltered areas where the grasses weren't moving quite so much. The sun was out too so these guys were quite active but I did manage to find one that would stay still for a moment albeit buried quite deep in the stems.
40D + 150mm macro, f6.3 at ISO200 for 1/320. Tripod
About 40% of the original frame
All comments welcome and also any tips on finding subjects for when I can overwhelm the urge to go back to sleep in the early hours would be much appreciated!
Good one Magnus and nice and sharp where it matters.
I've found that the bramble/blackberry bushes is a good spot for a variety of butterflies.

Excellent closeup. Makes a refreshing change from the usual BBBOTBBI (beautiful but bordering on the banal butterfly image) Keep these closeups coming.
