I was curious as to what might come up if I googled my own name the other day and found that three of my images were posted on this site http://pixdaus.com I thought I would do a search on the site of some of the photographers from NPN and found a few of your images being used, I assume, without permission. Some even have the copyright symbol and photographers name on the photo but it is still posted on there. I searched a few names and found images from: Guy Tal, Marc Adamus, Chip Phillips, Kathryn Engle, and Steve Sieren.

I posted a comment addressing the person who posted my images asking them to please remove them but have not received a response. Sure it might be a little more exposure since they usually put the photographer's name with the photo, but lots of times they appear all pixilated and crappy... with our names attached to them... thanks a lot! I just thought I would give everyone a heads up and maybe we can figure out a way to stop or minimize this.

Yeah, they've been at it for a while now. :frown:

It is a very popular site apparently too because their Alexa ranking is 11,000, which is pretty good compared to most sites.

This same website came up in a topic a while back:
http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/bbs.cgi?a=vm&mr=40464
For what its worth, I contacted the website management directly and within a few hours got a reply and my images were removed.

Thanks Greg, I originally looked for a way to contact them but could not find it. After a closer look I found a tiny contact button down the right side after scrolling down. I have contacted them and will check back later to see if they have removed my images.

The contact should help, I've had the same thing happen to me and a few other some time ago, we emailed and I haven't seen one of my or their pictures on there since then.

It worked! My images are off of their site. They don't make it easy to see that little contact button, but they do listen once you contact them. It only took a matter of hours to fix the situation.

You might want to check Flickr while you are at it. Curiosity got the best of me so I googled my own name this morning. Surprise, surprise! Someone with a Flickr account has posted 19 of my images...images that were stolen from a stock agency! The stock agency's name is prominent on the images, but my name and/or copyright are nowhere in visible sight. Needless to say, an email has gone out to Yahoo regarding the misuse of said images.

Golly, I'd be delighted if someone would consider my images worth "stealin' "

That's funny! (kind of) I even have one on there! Which I find really strange because I don't have that particular image on any site that allows you to copy to hard drive. Not only that, but the title they have listed is nowhere close to the actual title of the picture. Very odd.

I found this out a while back and emailed them, and last time I looked they had not taken them off. Theft.
