Sods law since I bought a macro lens we seem to have had gale force winds - oh well it is summer isn't it?

I llike the composition, but the butterfly looks ever so slightly OOF to me. Very nice colours
though.

Until this year never really looked at this species of butterfly, Is it me or has it been a good year for them as they seem to be all over the place.
Anyway it does look as though the focus point has finished up on the flower head but not easy to do hand held Maggie as I have found out.

I know exactly what you mean Maggie! I like the detail here and the thistle but I think the wind has left you with some blur in the butterfly looking at the proboscis. Keep going though and good luck

Thanks all for your comments. Will keep practising. Realised windy conditions are not a good place to start! Also discovered from "The Master" that I should have been converting my pics to sRGB before uploading and also using USM after converting to 720mm. Need all the help I can get but will stick at it. God loves a tryer

Colours and composition look great but just that little bit more sharpness needed to finish it off nicely.
Fingers crossed for a drop in the wind.
