Hurricane Ridge Obstruction Point
Was over on the OlyPen this week so one night headed up to Hurricane Ridge and Obstruction Point which is now open all the way. The wildflowers are starting to come out quite nicely. Has a bonus we were greeted by several very curious deer (including Bucks in velvet) that came within arms reach.
This was a tough image for me to process as the way the lighting and haze effected the image.

Suggestions on improvements appreciated
Thanks for looking

Improvements?! I don't think so! What a shot! Thanks for posting it. The only nit is that I wish I had been standing next to you with my gear set up and ready to go.

This looks a little too blue on my monitor...I like it in the valley but the avalanche lilies have a cast to them as well. I would also be tempted to crop a little off the right to remove that one tree that is on the edge.

Thanks guy for the response. I agree with you Mark about the blue color cast on the foreground here is a rework neutralizing the whites and cropping as you suggested.

Thanks again for looking and commenting

I notice a halo on the ridge lines of the hills. That blue tint is pretty common on these type of shots with low light. A curves adjustment, especially in the LAB colorspace would really help get rid of the blue tint. If you work this, it could be excellent.

Hi Ray,

I think you must be the photographer that was just leaving as I arrived at this spot the other night! (If I'm correct, you and friend were in a Forerunner; I was driving a silver GMC Safari). Great location, wasn't it? In a day of scouting Hurricane Ridge and Obstruction Point road, I didn't find anything better. The deer came back just as it was getting really dark.

Hi Greg

Yep that was me and Don Hall was in the forerunner. Hope you were able to capture some sweet images after we left. We were hoping one of those deer would have strolled across those foreground flowers as were were shooting, but not this time. I'm in the aware once a month so maybe we will run into each other sometime. Take care

Quite a scene. I actually prefer your original.....it kept the color of the Aster (or whatever those flowers are ;) )
I don't find the blue tint to be overbearing on this one.
