After a heavy thunderstorm i spent a considerable amount of time in a hide. Temperatures were soaring and not a lot was happening. I did hear the orioles but in my experience they stay high up in the canopies of the trees and rarely come down. Till all of a sudden i saw this flicker of yellow in the corner of my eye. I was able to take 4 images and it was gone, not to be seen again! In my opinion one of the most difficult european bird species to take images off.

This bird was my favourite in the set of BrookeBond tea cards about fifty years ago. Never seen one live but this is the next best thing. Excellent image indeed.
A fine shot and what a striking species to have in your collection.

A beautiful shot, they are so difficult to get near too. Many congratulations, your perseverance paid off! The only time I was ever really close to one, unbelievably it was sharing a branch with a Hobby - and I hadn't got my camera with me!!
Nice one of what I understand is a difficult species, perhaps a bit central , but given the opportunity that is not a problem, on my calibrated system however the yellow is looking a tiny bit hot, more than likely that is down to the compression.

They may be difficult but you have made a very good capture of this one.
