A friend and I rented the cottage on Gigrin Farm for a week, and there are only so many pics of Red Kites you can take.
I spent a lot of time photographing ravens and buzzards, but also got some herons, rooks etc. Oh, and some kites, but everyone posts them, so here is a raven.
All C&C welcome.
Nikon D3 with Nikon 300 mm/F2.8. 1/2000 sec @ F2.8, ISO 1000, EV 0.
Works for me. I like the position of the Raven within the frame. Perhaps just a little over-sharpened as there's a slight halo showing below the birds head.
One way, of many, to solve that, is to apply the sharpening to a duplicate layer, create a layer mask, zoom right in to 400%, or so, and just paint out any visible halo with a hard edged brush.

I like this bird in it's natural setting.
