Kansas wall cloud
As the small hail started hitting town, I hopped into the car and headed out of town, towards the inbound storm. I out ran the rain for a few minutes. This cloud prompted a tornado warning, but a tornado was never confirmed. The hail in some areas was up to 1.5", but I didn't see any of it :). The first pic is a single image, the second image is a multi-photo stitch from a few minutes later as the storm slid by and as the rain started over me again.

Rob, that is one scary cloud! Would that be considered a classic anvil cloud? Nice catch and I am glad there was no tornado.

Very dramatic images Rob. These two shots really help me understand what a classic wall cloud looks like. I'm not sure how this cloud structure got its "wall" designation but if I ever see one I'll sure know what I'm looking at. Thanks for sharing these.

Reminds me of storms in Oklahoma. Very ominous. I am glad no tornado came down out of it.
Just be careful as you go out chasing tornados! We would hate lose a gifted and faithful contributor to this forum.

That is terrifying! I'm glad you shot it though. The pano perspective is neat.

Whoa! Those are some scary looking clouds, especially the second one. You are one brave man to go out chasing around after these!

Thanks everybody. This storm didn't scare me like some. I'm definitely careful though when chasing these kinds of storms.
