So very lucky......
Yesterday evening I was stalking roe deer. A beautiful place with lots of roe deer, red deer and wild boar. I was following this deer trail facing the wind and ready for an encounter with these wonderful animals. A bit left from this trail a Nightjar flew off. I managed to get one flight shot of her arse  I checked the place out and found two Nightjar chicks. Just lying there with their eyes closed. I carefully cut away some grass to get a clearer view and took some images. What a fantastic night and experience. I think this must be the most difficult bird around.

iso 200 1/250 sec. F8 full frame.

You have to step on these to see them on the ground usually - well found and weren't you lucky to have some sun last night too: nothing but rain here at the moment!

Thanks Mark :wavey:

It's not the best picture I've ever produced but it's the moment I enjoy.

Wow, more than being lucky this image must serve pretty well as a record or document shot of the nightjar?
