A view of Sabrina
Howdy all

Been away for a bit and want to get back into the swing of things. This is an image from my first fall color visit to Lake Sabrina last year. I guess I'd be curious if this works at all. Does the foreground provide a good enough connection with the remaining portion of the image? The branch in the foreground is just how I found it and even has some fishing line tangled up on it. Thanks for looking. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Edit: Looks like I forgot to correct the slight tilt.

Mike, I think it works just fine the way it is. The yellow really pops against the high % of blue. Wouldn't mind see the tree a tad down and to the right but that's just me. We'll see what the other CANPers have to say. I see the line there maybe it's a spider web?

they opened up the road up since the fire there earlier this week.

Side note: I hear they are going to close a few parks, that sucks! Hopefully the closed sites can still be protected somehow from any development.

Colors and subject matter are beautiful. I'm a little ambivalent about the composition. As presented, I think I might prefer it as a 4x5 crop with a little off the bottom. I'm also imagining a comp where the camera is swung just a little to the right, so as to place the fg branch more off-center. I think the fg branch and the high-contrast of that shaded area on the right would make for a nice diagonal tension. Looks like you really timed it well for the color.

I like it as is. The dark foreground is somewhat itnerresting enough to provide texture to the floating island comp. I prefer that than cutting it out and getting a brighter overall photo and less to look at.
