Name for Colored Face Patch on Egrets?

I'm making a presentation on Shorebirds and cannot remember the name for the face patch on egrets that changes color during breeding season. I know it starts with an A. . . a little help? Thanks in advance!

The patch of featherless skin that changes color in breeding season is the lores, as Lia says.
