Hmmmm?
Still working through my shots a few weeks ago at Whispering Pines Park, and wondered what the thinking might be on these two. Do these work?

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

And #2

The first one works for me quite well!
I like the mix of flowers without any other elements to distract the eye, along with the nice even lighting.
The only complaint I have is this needs to be viewed larger than this, which isn't an option here as at ES&S. I like your framing, but would gladly do without in order to see more of the detail in these particular sorts of images.

Thanks, John. I started putting framing around my shots just to be able to put a copyright on it. Maybe I'll just go with a border and incorporate the name and copyright in the photo itself. In the first one, I saw an arrow or wedge movement toward the top in the silver plants.

I also like the first image quite a lot. While the second is nice, the first is the simpler image with a clearer "mission".

Morris;

I like the scenes here, but the first one has a geoid effect (globe/radial) which is effective for emphasizing the oblique view (as if you might be orbiting miles above this surface).... too much geography talk? Sorry Morris, but you've been to the gallery and you know how much of a geek I am!

Here's my take on the second shot: The background elements are definitely worth having in the frame but not this 'scrunched' into the top of it - so my recommendation is to return to this position at a different time of day (if its not too far away!) and try to capture some sky/cloud elements in there to balance the FG elements out. In my opinion, it may give the shot more substance rather then the FG flowers -- or do what you did in the first shot and isolate them.

Good work dude! You've been busy this summer! Keep em comin!

Heck yeah! Esp. #1.

Yes on 1, maybe on two, hard to tell but the light looks a bit problematic there. I think id boost the contrast just a tad. Nice!

I really like #1, but it is hard to judge this accurately at such a small size. Lots of folks put a copyright right onto their images and if done subtlely, it doesn't detract from the image.

I like the comp best on #1. My eye just wants to wander up to the brighter sky portion on #2 so it distracts from the main subject.

Another vote for #1, it really emphasizes the patterns in the foliage. I don't think the background tress & sky really add anything in #2, I agree with Guy. Crop just under the bush on the right?

I also like the wandering pattern in #1 and agree with the crop suggestion on #2. Where is this place any how?

Thanks everyone for the input. You are all extremely helpful, as usual.
John, the park is just north of Franktown and a little east of Hwy. 83.
