Sweaty waders and nasty swamp water made for a nice evening tonight. It's a little scary when you're getting stuck out in the swamp near dark with no flashlight. One bad step and you could be impaled by a Cypress Knee!
I shot this tree a while back and it looks almost the same, but more resolution this time around.

A little off topic but for those who are interested, here's a new music video I directed and edited shot with a couple of 5D Mark II's http://www.vimeo.com/5512140

Hey Aaron, The second shot appeals to me with the reflections and calm surface of the water. I don't think I would venture into the swamps in this hot weather. The bugs have to be a big problem..

Very swampy stuff . . . like we have down here on the border with Lousiana.
BTW - Watched your video. Good camera work and post processing. Music is not my cup of tea, but then nobody does music videos of Mozart these days!
Aaron...I commend you on being brave enough to find yourself in a swamp in Arkansas in the summer...You won't find me in waders in a swamp for sure! I am liking the second shot better..The reflection really appeals to me and it's a little more colorful.
Great job on the video btw...Amazing what a 5D can do in the video dept. I'm impressed!
Nice work, Aaron, both are nice but #2 is my favorite.

Aaron, I'm glad someone is willing to wade into a snake & gator infested swamp to get these shots ... keeps me from having to do it (for which I'm eternally grateful)! Looks like your subject is a grand old patriarch of the swamp. Nicely done.

The least of my concerns would be bugs...cottonmouths and 200 lb. alligator snapping turtles would be high on the list though.
