I distinctly remember this photograph being taken next to a new dual carriageway running precariously close to a conservation village near Glasgow.
What strikes me is that a common weed can be so beautiful when viewed in this way. Extrapolate that and I find myself thinking that everything in nature is beautiful. A feat that just can't be replicated by a human hand.
What interests me is why we feel this way about nature. Gadgets and cars and the like are all designed to be appealing and with smooth lines, minimalist appearance or whatever fashionable attribute is popular but they all come and go so quickly. In the natural world, however, we're still marveling at the icebergs, insects and detritus.
Is it something deep within us that connects us to nature in a quiet and reserved way - a personal admiration and satisfying comfort that it's always there and always will be?
Thanks nature - you don't ask much in return

The Omniverse is amazing we are privileged to be part of It. A different take on the dandelion. Very nice indeed.
Interesting thoughts Chris. I always feel that I am at one, and at peace with nature when I am out and about, perhaps it's that we are part of it? We too are living things, whereas cars etc are objects....
