Since others have been trying to post different views of RMNP, I decided to do something completely different and take lots of boring, iconic shots during my 3 days in RMNP last week... Thanks to Erik for suggesting the locations for a few of the shots. I'll post some here and you can see more at:
I could have used a t/s lens for this first shot, since there was too much distortion. But I corrected it in Photoshop and got something I'm mostly happy with.
Stan's comments mostly echo my own, but I think I like #2 more than he does. The clouds really add to the shot. Although it feels a litte tight on the sides, #3 is my fav. The elk looks like he's posing.
Some unique ones in addition to the "traditional" locations. I really like the lily pads (Nymph Lake, I'm guessing) in your link and the vertical pano elk shot here. The clouds in your rock cut shot in the post are pretty cool too.
Thanks for the comments! Erik is full of it. I was at least 10 feet away from the road for most of these shots! And for the first shot, I got up at 3:45 am and hiked nearly two miles. That may be close to the road from Erik's perspective, but for someone in my physical condition, it's akin to climbing Mt. Everest!

The 'slim' crop works well with both. The elk shot is truly unique...I love it!
Did you really shoot these from near a road as was alluded to earlier?
