I have wanted to photograph this beautiful species ever since I first picked up a camera and it has taken me until now to do so. Laurie Campbells images of Pine Martens that he achieved a few years ago have always been my favorite set of images produced by a UK photographer and something I have always aspired towards. This is going to be work in progress but I am quite pleased with what I have got so far. This is a youngster that is coming to some Jam sandwiches.

Hi Danny
stunning . very cute, nice background, great eye contact and highlights.. love the mossy foreground .my only nit is the green shoot going towards the head i find it a little distracting.
But overall stunning love it.

That is good, the lighting and setting are just perfect

I agree with Mark about the green shoot, but I'd give my eye teeth for a shot of a pine marten half as good as this one. I look forward to seeing more shots as the project progresses. I suspect you will have to make a lot more jam sandwiches.
I agree but this was such a nice pose that it is my favorite so far and I never got anything like it again. I did tidy the setting up a little and removed some of these stems but only got the female back on and not this little cutie. I could try and clone it but its not that bad so I will live with it.

What flavour are you using as I want to know the secret. Oh and also the make.
Thats just a brilliant mammal and a great favourite myself.
Out of curiosity whats the strange wavey effect in the BG?
Great start to the project, Danny! The gentle light enhances the detail in the fur very effectively. This is one of those images that leaps off the page because of its clarity.
The nits are obvious but working with wild animals you take what you can get. Lovely image - congrats.
Cheers,
Chris
PS. You must really have wanted pine marten images if you were willing to forego jam butties!!
Yes we can complain about the odd stem but I'll wager every photographer and viewer of this image will be wishing it was theirs. Lovely image Danny.

What a stunning image. After waiting so long you must be chuffed to bits with this. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the series.
Jam sarnies are magical, I know I would do anything for one !!
