Our Bird Photography Forum has been such a hit that we have now created a similar discussion forum for landscape photography. Info on the new forum can be found here and the new forum is now listed in the Forums menu at the top of the screen.

We hope you find this latest addition a useful resource!

Hmmm. I see the Bird Photography Forum but I don't see the Landscape Forum. I'm looking for it here: http://www.naturephotographers.net/rf.html

Is it somewhere else?

Crikey! Yet another forum to track! Not that I mind, however. It should be interesting and informative.

Thanks, Jim!

So, what might be the difference between the current ESS and the new Landscape forum? By name, they seem to cover the same subject.

ESS is an image critique forum (pictures posted and, occasionally  commented upon); the new Landscape forum is for discussion about landscape photography and related issues (i.e. not for the posting of images).

Thanks Kerry

Yes, the new landscape *discussion* forum is specifically designed to address things pertaining to landscape photography, but not image critiques. For example: where to go when, printing/editing landscape photos, landscape photo equipment, landscape photo processing etc. In some ways it has overlap with a number of other forums, but the hope is that it will be convenient for us landscape photographers to have a place to discuss such topics in a consolidated place. If you need help with picking a place, choosing your equipment, getting there, photographing it, processing the image, printing it, (and perhaps then selling that landscape image - though that may best be done in the marketing corner), rather then visiting 5 separate forums, you can now just post in one and get all your answers there.

Swing on by and check it out!

Jim--would it be possible to create an online file depot where we could post things like tutorials, actions, pdfs, and other useful things like that? Often if someone mentions that they ahve an action then they either have to put it on a blog or their own website or offer to email it to those who ask. It would be so much easier if there was a place where it could be uploaded for all to access. This also makes it available even after the original message disappears into the netherlands or you start celaning out old messages. I did notice that the Pacific Northwest forum has a tips link in their top menu bar but those appear to be very old and not updated. Thanks--Larry

Bump

Larry, we would have to figure out how to do that without opening up a major breach in server security. It has the potential of being abused by those with malicious intent.

Yes, I figured that would be a concern. However, Yahoogroups has thousands of forums and each has a similar file depot. I wonder if they have a program that scans every file as it is loaded for viruses or malicious content? I'm on several forums there and never have had a problem with files I've downloaded.
