The ubiquitous sunflower
Wildflowers are abundant in the prairies. I shot this one two weeks ago near the Kansas border. This image was made with my Tamron 200 to 500mm lens. There was a pretty strong backlight on the flowers so I decided to isolate this one. There was also a fairly strong breeze so I cranked the ISO on my Nikon D2Xs to 800.

Great idea to isolate the flower.
The shadow helps give this some dimension.
Darkening the backdrop just a taste would help define the stem a bit better.
The backdrop could use a bit of noise reduction, as well. These are minor points, though.

All in all, a great shot, Rod!

I agree with John on the noise reduction, but your comp, and color are excellent. And the light show the flower off very well.
