Lapwing in Rain
Both myself and this Lapwing got caught in a sudden shower so I managed to get into a position where I could shoot back towards the setting sun and illuminate the raindrops. It was a lovely day about five minutes before this was taken but the weather changes so quickly here in the Dales.

1D3 700mm ISO:400 1/200 sec @ f/5.6

Thanks for looking

Great shot, I have tried a few times to get birds in the rain but it really works here, may have inspired me to have another go.

Very nice Simon - good composition and the BL has helped accentuate the falling rain and on the grass!

Fantastic result. Love these type of images. I feel the colour temperature is a bit warm but possibly just a result of the backlighting.

With the rain in the BG it says it all! Good detail, especially with the rain on the feathers. perhaps a bit more contrast, or would that spoil the overall colour?

Well done. It's really a wet picture.
