Last Sat I climbed UN13,631 B from Len Shoemaker Basin. The view of the Maroon Bells area is exquisite. While descending, I was surprised to get some decent light due to some interesting cloud cover.

Does the foregound seem underexposed? Is there too much going on?

Nice view Kane. I think it's impossible to take a bad picture of the Bells (but also don't want to be proven wrong ). I think the fg exposure is fine, since it obviously was in shade and the scene isn't overly busy. One thought, getting closer to some flowers like the yellow paintbrush on the right might yield a little bit more drama.

John, You are correct. I wasn't expecting much that day so I wasn't in true photographer mode, meaning gettin low never crossed my mind. Too bad.

The FG exposure looks good, but the shot could use a contrast boost overall. Other than that, it's real, and it's spectacular!

Nice handling of the exposure, and I like the different view.

Kane, a little too much foreground for my personal tastes but otherwise great shot, love the angle. :toast:

Hi Kane, nice to see you here on NPN, and nice shot. Exposure looks great to me. The smooth curves of the foreground are a nice contrast with the rugged Bells, but I agree that the foreground would benefit from a solid focal point. The middleground cliff on the left is also not doing much for me. But the comp does draw me in, the dappled light on the peaks is sweet, and it's a beautiful sky. Your pano version on SummitPost is great too!
