I have been shifting through old files and found this image, taken earlier this year (February). I have tried to edit it before but just couldn't get it right but I think this time I have something I like, inspired by Piet Mondrian. A bit different from the norm and like Mondrian I was trying to get something modern but would appreciate any thoughts.
Wow! I really had to think when I looked at this - very creative indeed, and an artful use of some really simple design elements, and a lot of empty space. Theres a beautifully subtle quality to this, that is incredibly refreshing. Rule of thirds? Bah humbug - I'd have this one any time! Very very nice indeed imho. Well done!
Nice idea! I personally feel it would have worked better with the duck flying towards you and a little further right in the frame. Obviously not something you can control! Shame the tree has a slight lean to the left too, but a nice graphic image.
Sorry Liam, I have looked at this several times but it just doesn't do anything for me. The bird is too small and travelling in the wrong direction and to my eye there is too much empty space to the right.
Interesting, contemporary image, Liam. The simplicity of the shot is enhanced by its presentation in B&W and while its appeal isn't necessarily instant it is a 'grower'. The negative space is very important in this composition - hats off or trying something different.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for all the comments, its appreciated, I realise this a love or hate image. I to wish the duck was traveling my way but that only happens when I am looking the other way. Even so I really like it as it is rare my images are really creative like this.
