The Barn
I've driven past this place I-don't-know-how-many-times and thought it was interesting... on my way back from Aspen I caught it with some clouds and found a driveway to turn off 285 and shoot it. Your thoughts?

I really like the shot. I love the dynamic sky, but I think that a the picture would benefit with a little bit less of it. You managed to get perfect light on the barn though which makes the shot.

Great barn, great sky and great mountains = great shot, Nate!

Perfect lighting on the barn and the stormy sky just sets it off perfectly. Awesome catch Nat!

Amazing light Nat.

Nice find!
It's a bit underexposed, though. Adjust the histogram and it really pops.

I like the sky and the barn anchors it nicely. My only suggestion is to lighten the dark wisp of cloud at the top.

Cheers,

Nice shot! Don't tell my barn-obsessed mom about this shot or she'll buy yet another photo from you .

The red barn contrasts perfectly against the darker sky, great light too!. I think you could adjust the histogram slightly, just to add a bit more contrast to the sky.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I darkened the clouds a bit (maybe too much) because they competed for attention with the barn. This was a quick edit in Lightroom on my laptop - I'll take another look on my main computer. I appreciate your suggestions!

I like it a lot! The clouds look like they're blue-toned but fairly normal down low, but fade to monochrome up top. Purposeful? It's an interesting look.

Very dramatic, Nat. I like it a lot. I think making the clouds just a bit brighter and increasing their contrast would help, but not compete too much with the barn. Really nice find.

Nice shot. I like where you placed the barn and the clouds are very dramatic.

The light on the barn makes this shot. Love the contrast of the red barn and the dark moody sky. Very cool!

This is a really nice shot Nate. The bright sunny barn is a great counterpoint to the threatening sky. This looks like the new barn on a piece of property southwest of Jefferson on the left side heading towards Jefferson. Am I right? If so, I took a shot back in 2004 of the old, falling down barn that this red one replaced.
