Panoramic Prints in Custom Sizes?

I have never printed any panoramic shots, but just got an inquiry into one I shot this spring, and have no idea where to turn...

The final aspect range in nearest whole numbers is roughly 9/4 or 18/8.

Is there a reputable/trusted online printer that does custom pano prints, or one that would print one close to that aspect ratio???

Thanks in advance!

Jim,

Contact West Coast Imaging. They may be able to help you. They are located near Yosemite, in Oakhurst, CA, so you'd either have to upload the pre-flighted file or send them a CD. Give them a call.

This is going to sound 'off-the-wall' but the UPS Stores around me all have 60" wide archival Canon printers and they do pretty good work. I've had them do a number of prints larger than my Epspn 2200 would handle and have been happy with the results. If this is just an occasion thing or something your trying out you might want to check them out. Of course they are a franchise store so printing savvy may vary but the two nearest me are both commonly used by artists and photographers.

Hi Jim,

I understand what your asking but let me shed a little light on something. Any lab can print the size your asking about. It would be something like 16x36. For example, as long as the lab can print up to 36" an image that size will fit. With that being said, it would be printed on 24x36 paper for example. I just had a print made that measured 11x36. I sized it in photoshop and then extended the canvas to 24x36 to meet the labs paper size. When I received the print I trimmed the extra 13" off and had my 11x36 print. Many labs will do the trimming for you for free on orders of a given amount.
As for a recommendation on a lab, In my opinion, mpix and now mpixpro can not be beat.

Jim,

Brad is correct - any lab can custom print as long as you tell them the size and also "No Crop"
I just had an 18x36 done for a gallery show, no problem.
West Coast Imaging is good, but I use Jumbo Giant ( www.jumbogiant.com ) - they also use the Epson 9600/9800 archival pigment etc. Pekka (the owner) is great, communicates, asks questions and is a master printer who is fanatic about quality. Jumbo Giant is kind of a goofy name, but you cant beat the quality and turn around.
As Brad says, size it to the lab requirements and you're good to go.

One of the Pacific Northwest forum members has an excellent large scanner, and made a wonderful huge pano for me.
