I can't be the only one to have noticed that Philip Kirkhams name has dissapeared from the the top of the page, I know from recent emails that he has been very busy with other things, but, has he stepped down?
If that is the case I for one would like to take this opportunity to thank Phil for all the work he has put in, he has been a moderator here for a good many years, certainly more than I have been a participant here.
So cheers Phil and all the best for the future ( One day I will get up to Bute)
Oops, Jim has jumped the gun a little with changing the page! We'd intended to announce Phil's retirement in due course.
Yes, sadly Phil has decided the time has come to step down. Phil has had a few big changes in his life since I asked him to help moderate the forum, not least of all selling up and moving from Lancashire to Bute where he's set up shop (I'm sure he'd welcome you in!). He's not leaving NPN/UKNP though and I'm sure he'll chip in here himself .
I'd like to say a big thanks to Phil for the help and behind the scenes work he's given us over the years

Cheers Phil and thank you for your work in helping to make UKNP the popular forum we see today!
Thanks for all the time and effort you've put into the forum over the years, it's helped make it the thriving community it is today and your work has been much appreciated.
Hi Guys
I wondered who would be first to notice the name missing at the top!
I have certainly enjoyed my stint as a moderator, and in many ways considered it a privilage - you are an exceedingly talented bunch.
My new shop / workshop, here on Bute, seems to devour ever more of my time, and I can hardly remember the last time I pointed the camera at nature. I therefore considered that the time has come when I can no longer read every posting on the site, so I consider that I should stand down.
You are a supremely dedicated group, and many of the images posted here are second to none. I must also congratulate the unselfish way in which much critique is freely given.
Finally, I have to say that Jim and Donna, along with Nick and Tom deserve huge praise for ALL their hard work in setting up and maintaining this, the premier of Natural History Photography websites.
With Very Best Wishes to You All
Phil
Sad to see you go as a mod Phil and I really hope your new venture is a successful one, many thanks for your honest critique and always helpful manner down the years but I still hope you drop in every now and then.
Thanks for all your effort in helping all of us make steps in our photography over the years!
Sure hope to see you around here in the future and wish you all the best!
Like the others, I would just like to add my voice in thanking you for everything you have done and the helpfull advice you have given over the years, cheers mate.
As a relative newbie I'm not necessarily clued up as to the full history of UKNP; it is clear that Phil has been a major influence on the success of this forum. So, Phil, thanks for your contribution in providing us with such a quality platform on which to show and discuss our work. Good luck for the future.
As many have said, this forum is the premium standard here in the UK, thanks in no small part to the contributions of Tom and Nick. Keep up the good work guys.
Thanks for all the very kind comments. If any of you are ever over here, please call in for a brew. My shop is by the harbour, called "Picture Bute".
Best wishes
Phil
PS David, you certainly come up with some unusual facts! I'm going to search for some Bute tatties!!!
