Two days at Ice Lake
Just wanted to share 10 images from Ice Lake where I spent two days last week. Thanks for Stan's suggestion, this is really a wonderful place! Unfortunately the images below just can't do it justice. Hopefully I can go back soon in the future!
#1 Lower basin near the waterfall.

#7 Island lake. I am guessing it's the Needles in the background, but I am probably wrong, can somebody confirm?

Some nice stuff! I'd be tempted to crop the entire blue sky out of the first shot, as I kind of find the top of the image distracting. I'd almost say the same about #8 but I'm not sure if there is a good crop there. There's some chrom. abb. on that one too. I also like #4 and #6. The background focus seems a bit soft, though I know it's tough with that much DOF. For shots like this, I like to take several shots with slightly different focus points at my smallest aperture and then later pick out the best one. (geez, I must be extra-harsh when reviewing images after midnight cause on the whole the images are very purty )

Really nice stuff! I like the afternoon shot of Ice Lake, where you can really see the blue color, best. Not exactly sure which direction you're looking in the one that may or may not feature the Needle Mtns. in the distance. I'd like a closer look. I'm inclined to say it's the West Needles or something, as it's a fairly compact grouping of peaks, whereas the Needles and Grenadiers tend to define an entire skyline.

Hard to choose between 1, 4, 6, 7, and 8 for me. Excellent work all around.
