Driving to Salt Plains WMA in Northwest Oklahoma, I found this Nighthawk resting on a cornerpost near Nash, OK.

Well done Dan, you seem to have a knack at finding some unusual birds.

Nice shot Daniel, really good to see. I was out just 2 days ago and was eyeing a nighthawk on a fence post myself. They are very plentiful right now in the flint hills and are really neat to watch.

Brad - I agree that Nighthawks are neat to watch. Just wish I could have gotten a good shot of one on the wing. They are very quick and dart around rather nimbly. They seldom fly in a straight line. I have several shots of Nighthawks flying over the prairie, but none were very clear.

classic shot, Daniel, I know I enjoy it when the nighthawks cooperate :)

One of my favorite prairie birds also. You've done some amazing bird shots but if you can get one of these guys caught in flight or even better, a dive, I would really be impressed.
