Vail Pass Stream
I spotted the lichen on this rock in a stream near Vail Pass. The white flowers in the foreground seemed to compliment it. I used my Nikon 17-35mm lens.

Here is a paint brush from that same area. Some of the paint brush are as deep a red as I have ever seen. Lots of yellow ones are blooming now along with some pink.

I like both shots a lot, although the color seems a bit subdued.

Like how the flowers frame the river in the first image. Like the sense of motion as well.

Nice comp and flow in the stream shot. I would suggest darkening the BG in the paintbrush image to make the very nice flower stand out more.

Both are very nice shots, Rod. Well done.

I agree that I would try to darken the background on the single flower image, but both images are very nice!
