Old version....

Benjamin, newer version has a lot more snap to it. It also appears the middle water is very dull on the older version as well as the FG surf "white water" is truly white on the newer version. The black sand is much better to look at too in the newer version.
Nice change(s) overall.....

I like the water better in the new version but the sky better in the old version. If you could perhaps tame the sky a bit that would probably help get you to that place.

Is this Goat Rock Beach?

Richard, I totally agree, after I posted it I thought that sky needed a touch more work. And this spot is right near Goat Rock, I was actually about 100yards north of the Russian River.

I was thinking along the same lines as Richard, but I see you already came to the same conclusion. The water and foreground sand/rocks are far better in the newer version. Nice pop!

Overall a big improvement Ben, I agree the sky is a bit bright - but it kind of fits with the brightness of the foreground. So, I wouldn't take it all the way down to the levels of the old version, just a bit, and enough to get rid of the red fringing too.

100 yards north of the Russian River. Is this Jenner? The rework is definitely much better. I agree that the sky can be darker.
