Dume's Hawk
Here is an old shot of nice looking bird I found hanging out at the top of Point Dume. Too bad I cut his feet off. Some lady with a point and shoot was charging the bird so I never did get a chance to fire off the shutter again.

This is really nice, Steve. The raptors are so awsome to see. Yes, its too bad the talon was cut off, but this this is still a nice portrait. It is a Red Tail, correct?

I hope you had a word or three with the PS snapper. Not so much because you lost a shot, but because that unthinking person disturbed the bird.

Very nice shot of a Red-Tailed hawk Steve! The light itself is exceptional. Bummer about the foot but its still a good shot as is. Bummer about the point and shooter charging too, because in my experience on many occasions if approached cautiously these hawk's can sit for some time letting you photograph them. Is that an injury I see on the top of the wing near the shoulder?

Nice image! Bird feet are over-rated anyway.

I was really just enjoying the bird from a close distantance peacefully. My girlfriend at the time mentioned someone was coming fast so I snapped 2 shots before it flew away.

Should of had a word with the girl.

I don't really see any other kind of Hawk around out here.

Occasionally, some kind hovering kite but that's about it.

Beautiful capture Steve. The catch light in the eye makes the image for me. Well, along with the nice light...
