I was at Pillsbury Crossing this weekend for the first time this summer. Lots of water flowing with all the rain we have had. Since I've shot at Pillsbury so often, I was looking for some different vantage points and came up with this shot. I have plenty shots of just the waterfalls so I didn't want anything like that. I would have preferred to find some flower or something with some color to frame the falls with but no luck there. It was a beautiful evening to be there though.
Scott I like this one, the falls look like they were at a nice level also.

I like the perspective Scott. I would have liked just a bit more space above the falls as it feels a little tight. But overall this is one of the best shots I've seen of the entire width of the falls.
My personal observation is that really great shots of Pillsbury Crossing are going to be elusive. You have some of the best I've seen.
You had the right lens for the shot. I really enjoy our 10mm to really tie in the forground with the waterfall. I get bored looking at waterfalls with no real framing. It looks so much better using the vegetation or other natural features. To me, it makes all the difference in the world. Wayne said it, you need a little more room at the top and it would be perfect. The evening light on the water looks good too!

You saw the light!
The scene has a beautiful, soft, golden glow.

Thanks for the feedback. Here is a slightly different shot where I left more room above the falls. I wish I had paid more attention to the leave on the left side that is almost touching the falls, but that gives me a reason to go back again!
I lightened this one up a bit too, the first one looked a tad dark to me.
I hope we get some good fall color around Pillsbury this year, especially if the water level stays up.

Scott - nice images. It is interesting how a slight shift in POV can change the look and feel so much. It does look like there is some distortion at the edges, no doubt from using such a wide angle lens.
