Common species or not, a cracking shot. Excellent colours and detail and I like the beak level comp. As one who risks humiliation every time he posts, I can empathise with your remarks, Craig.  My motto is, in this respect, You can't please everybody, so you might as well please yourself

PS Thanks for the comment on my latest post. It'll probably be the only one.

Lovely image Craig, just a bit large in the frame.

Cheers,

Lewis.

A very nice simple portrait of this very colourful & underused bird.

Nice shot. Just a little big in the frame for me. Stretching/cloning, or enlarging canvas would be a pain with this one. In fact a tight in vertical crop works quite well.

Hi Graig,

A lovely shot of this common species, but I also think it is a little too big in the frame. A bit more space at the bottom would have been nice.

Tis indeed a tad large in the frame, but nothing you could do about that with a prime lens etc... certainly nothing wrong with the more common species, they are often overlooked because of that, recent posts have shown that good images can be obtained.

PS, don't get too anxious about the lack of comments at the moment, it is holiday season etc... I have been quiet simply because I am very very busy, so that I can have a couple of breaks and simply haven't had the time to make too many comments.

Thank you all and I agree 100% that its to big in the frame, I got carried away on the 'mallard' theme and posted this, loved the colours   :wavey: :wavey:
