Last week I had planned to head up to the Indian Peaks Wilderness for some morning photography at a backcountry lake. Well the day I had scheduled was when we had that really cool and totally overcast weather. So that morning I decided to find some place that didn't require a lot of hiking cause it looked like there would be no sunrise to speak of at all and that almost was the case. I found myself heading toward Loveland Pass. The sun did show itself for about a minute as it broke the horizon on the eastern plains before the clouds swallowed it up. This was the best of the lot.

Your best of the lot is mighty fine indeed! It might've only been a minute, but obviously it was a minute well spent.

Ooh, nice purply light and warmth on the mountains. Good call getting in the right spot ~ I would have been driving/hiking/fumbling for gear for that minute.
