Toroweap (Take 2)
Taken about the same time and day as the previous Toroweap image I posted last month, this is the more 'classic' composition from this amazing spot on the north rim of the Grand Canyon.

I'm getting a pain in my feet! Were you free-fall parachuting then John?

Boy this image isn't good if you suffer from Vertigo!. I really like the perspective and sheer impressiveness of the Canyon you captured on film. Beautiful lighting and exposure!.

I'm gettin queasy just looking at this! Nice capture.

The sunstar right in the corner is surely a different take. Awesome shot of a dizzying place.

You must've been hanging by your toes when you shot this! At first I wasn't sure if I liked the placement of the sunstar in the extreme corner but it is growing on me. A neat shot of a place I need to get to someday.

John,

I like the light you captured on the wall, I would still prefer a little more room at the top. This is still an interesting shot, and gives a great sense of what its like to stand there on the edge. I think your original post is slightly better than this one, that one was amazing.

Great comp, and another fantastic shot from here.

Another great shot from this spot! I like this one slightly better as you see more of the river and get the sense being on the edge of the deep canyon. It looks like there is a green flare in the LL corner and the cliff face looks slightly purple just to the left of the sun

Wow, a most excellent comp John! Well done!! :toast:

I'm reaching for the Dramamine as I type this...WOW!
I think a little more space at the top would be nice, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker. I immediately liked the sunburst in the corner. Great job.

I like this a lot, John. The tight crop works well at this spot since most of the time one gets a cloudless, featureless sky above the horizon line. The sun star is also adds a dramatic touch. :toast:

Crazy, dramatic, great image - and no flare. Just awesome! :toast:

That's a beaut! I like the balance of light. I'm not sure how you avoided lens flare and kept the shaded areas from going totally dark, but glad. It worked great!

Fantastic scene, John. I love your perspective here, but to be honest i could do without the sunstar.

John,
Wonderful shot and great perspective. The sun works for me here. Love it.

Hi John,
That is sweet! Love the sunstar. I agree about wanting more room at the top, but this is still a fantastic image.
