Taken from Agate Beach on Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands a couple weeks ago. This is a panorama stitched from 7 overlapping vertical shots. One of the most colorful sunsets I've seen in a long time.

beautiful color and I think you handled the exposure and composition well for having to take it in 7 shots. I do feel like this one has a lot of empty space, however. Nothing is really keeping my attention once I've taken in the color.
Did you take any photos of the distant islands with a telephoto, by chance?

Thanks for looking at it and for your comment. I do have one of this same sunset that I shot at 50mm which is somewhat telephoto on my crop sensor. It actually has a lot more detail than this shot which is extra wide because its a stitch. I'm pretty sure I am one of your contacts on flickr and I have that one up there.

My thoughts are the same as Chris. It's wonderful color, but a little more terra firma would be nice; I liked the foreground in the prior shot.
