Mt Jefferson from Bays Lake, OR.
This was my first trip to Jefferson Park....something I've been wanting to do for a couple years now.
We didn't get incredibly dramatic clouds, but the color in the light bouncing off the mountain at sunset was unbelievably vibrant, and lasted quite a long time. The Jefferson Park area is easily my favorite place I've ever been.

Very nice Chris, the tones are so RICH. I think you included just enough of the darker but pastel sky. I've been liking the muted darker images that have been being posted recently, and this one's a fine example.
So, what's the price for a 1920x1200 @ 96 dpi so I can use this as my desktop wallpaper?

The composition and lighting is really nice. Clouds could have been better but not a dealbuster. I'm kind of wondering about the shutter speed. I have seen shots of this comp with the water looking natural without it smoothed out with a slow shutterspeed and preffered that.

Yes, the clouds didn't really cooperate. The color bouncing around was intense though. Not much I could have done about the water though. It was very dark, and I would have had to sacrifice noise in the sky, or depth of field. Would have really liked to get a reflection, but the wind picked up on the water surface too much ;)
I like this very much for the comp and colors. My nit has to do with lens distortion; I wish the trees (on the right side, especially) didn't lean in. A very enticing shot– now I have yet another place I want to see.

When was this Chris? Last Saturday a friend hiked with my wife and me to McNiel Point on Mt. Hood. It was an exploring trip, I didn't take the camera, but on the drive back on Lolo Pass Rd. the sky lit up like this. I was wishing I had been camping up with the flowers we had just seen along the hike so I could photograph the amazing light.
Jefferson Park is definitely on my to do list too.

Yes, this was last Saturday night. I hear that there was an amazing sunset anywhere from Portland down to Eugene. It was overcast and cloudy at Jeff Park for about 4 hours before, but the color was so intense, it began to burn through the west clouds and illuminate the whole area.
