Hover-fly
Taken in my garden

Canon 1DMK3 EF100 2.8, ISO800, 1/100th sec, f5, tripod.

A pin-sharp close-up in nice soft light.
Ideally would have been better if the hoverfly was slightly more angled towards the camera, instead of facing away, but easier said than done at times, and a good shot regardless.

Some nice detail and I like the way it is framed between the blue of the petals. Great to see some more insect images. Keep them coming.

Really like the colours in this image. The blue and gold work really together. Crop works well aswell. Nice work . :toast: Ian

Interesting . I love the detail but the flower colour intensity seems to grab my eye a bit.
Good stuff though.

a very striking shot. The colours are really vibrant and the hoverfly is lovely and sharp. The composition is a little cluttered and, as Justin says, a shame the hover is facing away slightly but still a nice shot.
