Just needs a tad brightening on my monitor as the deer isn't very clear. But, that said I think my monitor is too dark!

Great shot. Took me a while to find the Deer, but it made the shot when I did :toast:

I really like this Marek and I am disappointed that it hasn't gained more comment, positive or negative. It works well on my monitor, I might be tempted to loose half an inch off the top, although that might be sacriledge with such a fantastic sky!

Cheers,

Lewis.

An excellent idea and the deer is well positioned against the slightly lighter area. The sky has some wonderful patterns and colours too.
Despite the points above, the image doesn't quite work for me as well as I think it could. The foreground is just to dark and although the deer is visible, it's not quite visible enough to be totally effective, at least IMHO.
Looking at the brightness in the sky I'd probably expect the foreground to be quite a bit lighter to the naked eye, which, I feel, would have worked a lot better.
An excellent idea and a well composed scene but if only the land had that little bit more visible detail.
A tricky shot to pull off and an excellent attempt and a well seen moment.

absolutely beautiful scene, almost looks like two separate images though, i think i might prefer it in black and white and 2:1 panoramic, cropping from the sky, doubt there's any that agree with me though

Marek - I have revisited this a few times - at first I did not like it, too dark, sky overpowering compared to subject, subject too small. BUT - having come back several times it has grown on me - (I was probably having a bad day when I first saw it!!) - the 720 really does not work for this kind of image - I'm sure a larger version is actually quite nice.

I know a lot of people hate doing this, but, if you shot in RAW you could make two exposures, one for the foreground and the other for the sky and blend them, that would bring out the foreground and show the deer, which is of course the subject of the shot, in better light - maybe....

If it were mine, I'd try that - but it is still a well seen shot and a nice idea - nice to see something different!

cheers

Colin
