Hi everyone. This is a heads-up to let you know that if you want to photograph bull moose, the Snowy Range is the place to be right now. I have seen *9* bull moose on my last 3 drives over the pass on Highway 130. All were within 5 miles on either side of Lake Marie, and each was within 50 yards of the highway. I am not setup for wildlife photography and my longest lens is a 100-300 zoom, but on the way home last night I was able to completely fill the frame with a moose at 200mm. They are near the side of the highway and seem docile and unconcerned with human presence. Driving home last night reminded me of being in Yellowstone NP; I just stopped when I saw cars pulled over and people standing on the side of the road, and there was a moose every time. I'm sure a skilled wildlife photographer would be able to capture some incredible images up here.

Brett, Thanks for the information. Looks like the velvet is still in good shape. Are you seeing them both in the A.M and P.M? Guess I'll head up next week. The moose population in the Tetons is really declining due to the number of calf kills each year.

Thanks guys. I've seen them in the morning, evening, and at midday. They were actively scrounging for food last evening and during the other times I've seen them they've been lying down.

Thanks Brett, useful info, I have yet to film a bull moose so might go take a look.

Another moose hotspot this time of year in the evenings is Gould, CO. You can Drive down SH14 and see 2-3 of them from the road.
