Quivira sunset
I took this last week at Quivira, as the sun hung low in the sky. The north end of Quivira consists of large mud flats. A month ago, very shallow water covered all of this mud, now it has retreated farther out. The overall shape of the puddles remind of a bird footprint. Just before shooting this, I was laying out at the far edge of the grass trying to get close enough to the birds, with a little success.

Not exactly what I expected from the title.

Nice evening glow on the grass.

What Larry said ... some very nice light on the wind blown grasses.

Beautiful warm light Rob, but I think I would like to have seen a bit more interest in the composition - maybe including more at the top would have added some depth to the scene...

Thanks Bill. I wasn't sure that there would be enough interest in the composition, as you put it. Above the horizon wasn't much to look at either. Quivira has a beauty of its own, but it sure is hard to find good comps :).

Rob

I'm struggling with this one. We all have differing perspectives which is the way it needs to be. jmho.
