Went up to Bird Creek Meadows on Mount Adams on Friday. The main meadow area is way past for most flowering, but lots of good stuff at the creeks along Crooked Creek Trail and right at Crooked Creek Falls. The high meadow just below Hellroaring Viewpoint is also very very nice. Lots of lupine accented with paintbrush, arnica, aster et al. Probably good for another week or so in those areas if you want to go.
Heading for Mount Rainier now and will be there most of this week. Anybody else heading that way?
I will be at Rainer on Thursday lots of flowers just no mountain on sunday did see a bear around the reflections lake area and plan to look for him again on thursday

The weather is supposed to be hit and miss the next couple of days, with pm showers predicted Thursday per weather.com (using Tacoma as the input city). The question is, would it be worth it to wait until next week, miss the weekend crowds and enjoy the sunshine that's supposed to be bathing the mountain? Or would it be advisable to go ASAP regardless of the weather in order to take advantage of the remaining blooms?

No question it will be crowded at Paradise - it was today even with rain and fog - but the weather should be excellent this weekend and into early next week.

I too have never been to the Bird Meadow area, thanks for the info and photo Greg. I'll have to put that on my list of places to see.
