Anyone ever exported prints to the US or Australia?
If you have, any idea on the HTS (Harmonised Tax Schedule) codes (if they need to be included on paperwork) or duties that are payable by the recipients? Or are they duty free?
TIA

Hi Nick
I have. make sure that everything is included in the price.you will probably get sting by UPS when they deliver (30.00) I was and friend of mine were too

Thanks - but was that for importing into the UK? I'm going the other way, exporting prints for a couple of people to the US & Aus.

Nick, just send the prints to them - VAT and let them deal with import taxes.
If the prints are valued at over a ciouple of hundred $ they might get a tax bill, but I doubt it would be much. Certainly it wouldn't be any more than the value of your time checking out all the export tax laws, that's what UPS are for
I send stuff over to Kenya and also to S.Africa with UPS and as far as I know the recipients have never had any problem.
Cheers John - to be honest, it's more about making sure they get them quickly and that the package doesn't get snarled up in customs.

Let UPS take care of all that, same as sending anything overseas.
Just make sure the paper's not impregnated with LSD or any modern equivalent and you should be fine.

If you mark all the packaging documents only - no commercial value, customs will be unlikely to hold it up. A CN22 or CN23 form is required if you want to post items with commercial value for export (EU excepted). I ship regullarly to around 90 different countries, the postal service to the USA, Australia and Canada is very good - rarely taking more than 5 days.

For future reference for anyone, the HTC is 49 11 91 00. CN22 for anything less than £270, CN23 for anything above.
John - looked at UPS (probably in the wrong place) - they where after more than £50 for a US delivery
