There was a very recent thread on another forum with a huge amount of complaints and many, many very unhappy customers. They're quite notorious by all accounts for appalling service and terrible customer relations, amongst other things.
The goods aren't UK based either, as some people are led to believe, but are in Hong Kong.

My mate brought a 600mm ( 5800 quid ) from them without any problems but like most shops on the internet you only ever hear about the bad deals. Unfortunately most people never post about the positive sales but when it goes bad, well, that's another story....
As Justin has pointed out, the customer service isn't the best. Another mate phoned them with a few questions about a 600mm and the person on the other end was very rude and un-helpful....
It took me a month and a threat of closing them down through court to get my money back, all of their stock is imported from the far east, if you want imported try digitalrev they have great customer support.

Rob, I brought a lens from them on a thursday(sigma 180) at the time they where cheaper than Warehouse Express, then on the monday I had a email saying they could'nt go ahead with the order until I provided a copy of my passport, household bill and a copy of the front of my card, upon reading this I contacted my bank, tryed to stop the payment, but they had put it through,I then tryed to ring them several times that day to be put on hold for ages,I then sent an email saying I wanted a refund because of the strange request's then'd asked for, it took my 5 weeks for them to put the money bank onto my credit card having ran up a massive phone bill, they are based in hong kong, which I did'nt no and yes you get a english ringtone but you just get told lie, after lie, after lie, when the money was returned in the end I then went and brough it from warehouse, this is the god's honest truth of my dealing's with them,if they had got a uk office things would have been very different, but the feeling of helplessness I felt I would'nt wish that on anyway else, trading stardards have all my emails I sent to them or I would send them to you, but do not go near them Rob

Hi Rob,
A few days ago, I was going to buy a Canon 70-200, and Simply Electronics had the cheapest prices. Never having heard of them, I looked them up, and found this - http://www.avforums.com/forums/camcorders-video-editing/739921-simply-electronics.html - which is probably the thread Justin is refering to. Needless to say, I stayed away, and instead bought from an ebay seller - 'digigood' - who was only about £10 dearer. Lens arrived in two days.

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
