I'm not much of a fan of cloud or moon portraits, but this one spoke to me.. is it too simple/straightforward? Or is there a zen balance that makes it interesting beyond initial looks? Shot from the top of Mt Evans in Colorado. Thanks for your thoughts!

I feel like I'm about to play Mr. Patato Head(landscape version). Where is the nose and why am I missing an eyeball? J/k
I think the simpleness works just fine.
Mt Evan is probably the coolest 14er since you can drive up it. Still have a few unprocessed shots from up there. Did you see the bristlecones up there too?

it works for me, Floris. Pink and blue are a good match. As you said, it is
Zen like.

Hey Floris
Simple but effective. Nice touch of color in the clouds. In a more abstract way it makes me think of a cyclops with a mustache. Yes, I'm a little out there, I know. Good work!

My impression is a combination of Steve and Roberts.
Michael - thanks, that was my first thought as well. I ended up liking the color more, I think, but here's a B&W. Ignore the noisey posterization or whatever it is in the sky... if I take this to print I'll need to do some work on that.

Floris,
Simple is almost always good, and this one is a shining example. I'd say Zen too, but I don't know anything about Zen other than it sounds good. Color version is wonderful and I think the b&w will be too with a little more work.
I like it... particularly the color one. There's a nice balance and simplicity to this image. If it were mine, that little cloud in the LRC would mysteriously disappear. :) Well seen and captured.
