May be asked before, but if I have a PDF version on DVD (created using Lightroom), will the DVD player be able to play it?
Or do I have to buy a software that can make DVD photo slideshow?

Also, I like to know how to determine best resolution (the HDTV that I like to use is 1080i) - from Image Size dialogue box in photoshop? Any tips on the setting will be helpful

thanks a lot for helping me out

I can't speak to Windows, but on a Mac there's an excellent product called iDVD that's part of the basic software that ships installed on every Mac. It will do exactly what you want.

As Jim said, iDVD (or iMovie) on a Mac is an easy way to create a slideshow in a DVD. Also, Photo-to-Movie is a good product, availabe on Mac or PC. You could also use Lightroom to export optimal jpegs to a USB memory stick (or SD or Flash card and USB reader) if your HDTV has a USB port like mine does. I merely have to plug the USB card reader or Memory stick into the USB port on my HDTV and it plays a slide show of the jpeg files.

Optimal Jpeg file resolution for a 1080i HDTV would be 1920W x 1080H. Anything larger than that and the HDTV should scale it down to fit in those dimensions.
