I've been up to flatside 5 or 6 times to catch a sunset, and still haven't really seen one. Seems like everytime i go there's never a break in the clouds. This was the edge of a decent sized thunderstorm that extended over to Little Rock. The sun never came out but did light up the clouds somewhat.

While it may not have been what you climbed up to capture, the result was well worth the effort. It evokes a kind of primordial sense of beginnings. The clouds are like a curtain being slowly drawn back to reveal the light of creation. Lovely colors and very evocative scene.

I thought about watching the meteor shower from that location and backed out at the last second. I opted for a much easier vantage point.

My one time up there resulted in no sunset as well. You still came home with a worthwhile image!

The layered undulations are really nice.

I haven't seen anything but a flickr logo for a while now...
