Sunrise – Lake of the Clouds
This is an HDR version of a sunrise shot taken at Lake of the Clouds last week.

Shortly after taking this photo I ran into Nick Bristol, an NPR member from Lone Rock, Wisconsin. This is the first time I’ve encountered an NPR member on my many trips. We had a great discussion and I had a chance to see some of the outstanding photos in his portfolio.

Comments welcome.

Sweet light, Phil. Nice job with the HDR. Is the light area in the near part of the lake mist or reflected sky? If it's sky, it's giving away your HDR by being lighter than the sky.

Great shot. One of those moments worth capturing.

A proposed as yet still in my head destination this fall. Thank you for the inspiration. What a hoot meeting a fellow member. A bonus to this bonus.

Great location! I can bet you were wishing for amazing clouds, but you sure made the best of the clear sky.

Awesome to run into a fellow NPN'r too.

Thanks for posting.

This is really nice, Phil. I have seen so many Lake of the Clouds "standard" shots over the years. This is unique and I like the unique perspective. My favorite shot of my own was taken from the "standard" view point and does not even show the lake, but rather is upriver. I like unique approaches.
