:jump: and there's me thinking the Sigma 200-500mm f/2.8 EX DG was ridiculously large for practical photography! I rather buy a house than pay $120,000!!!

I get a few comments about the size of my 600mm when out, can just image what people would say if I had this lens!

It is on my Christmas/Chanukah wish list if anyone is inclined. Thank you in advance.

Thanks! I've been looking for an inexpensive, lightweight lens for backpacking and travel. This should fit in my carry-on.

Of course then there is the 2000 mm telescope at:

for only $329.99 (note the decimal point)! Anyone know anything about it?

Heather and Paul, you do realize that the inner elements of that lens are removable for the barrel to double as a second vacation home? It is the ultimate, llama powered, grain fueled motor home.

I'll take out a second mortgage tomorrow. Oh, wait. I have an Olympus.

Ed, Thanks for the information. I didn't know there was such a monster lurking around. I guess I'll cancel my order for the 800.

I've been looking for a lens to use handheld for birds in flight photography, and think this might be it!
