Just sharing a pic, because it's been toooooo long. Here's a shot from my recent Colorado trip - a view of Canby Mountain near Stony Pass, at dusk. Nikon D2x and Tokina 11-16mm.

And, how about the pic ...

Great shot! I really like the flowers being off center of the peak in the distance. It really works for me.
Were you using a polarizer on this shot? I see a lighter colored band running diagonally across the sky.

This is interesting...I have the same lens so how come you get better pictures than me? Very nice capture Jesse! I like the single clump of flowers as a lead in

Thanks Jim. It's the fading light of the sun streaking through clouds behind me. My vignette effect is much more pronounced in this small JPEG. I'll probably back off that a bit.

I personally like the vignette on dusk shots.... It makes it feel like the world is closing in around you. It could just be me though.

Love it! I like the sun rays, and your vignetting in the sky, really focuses attention.
Very pretty, nice shot Jesse! For some reason it feels more 'dawn' than 'dusk', maybe because its so quiet looking. Well, keep em' coming Jesse cuase we're selfish and we want to see more!
Texture, depth, color, and a great comp. Awesome shot!

Just read how you stumbled upon this place. What a find!
A stellar composition with that single patch of flowers and the moon.
Wonderfully unique!

Beautiful placement of the moon and flowers in relation to the peak. Really like this comp.

Great image, Jesse! I just finished perusing your FB pages - I'm still deciding whether to sign up. Great stuff in there, also!

Thanks for the comments gentlemen.
Doug, Facebook is actually a lot of fun. I'm actually using it as a "blog" now. And I've reconnected with people from grade school. (!) Jump in, the water's fine.

Love the work!
I think it's interesting that you would drive traffic to your Facebook pages through RMNP/NPN; I think this is something that could be discussed further.
... looking forward to it.

Again, thank you for the feedback. Nat ... not sure I catch your drift. In the past, I've posted links to my website for trip reports, but I'm now using Facebook for these - and for general blog purposes. The interactive nature of FB is perfect for generating/maintaining an audience. Please open up any discussion on the subject.
What an amazing shot Jesse! The soft light is fantastic here, and the composition is incredible. You really had a great trip with this and your columbine shot.

Excellent capture Jesse.
Just dropped in from the CSNP to see some images from CO and UT. Preliminary planning for a trip to Moab in late October.
