Seabird Colony
On the way back from May Island, the boat takes you on a little tour round the southern edge. Here there are thousands of Guillemots and Kittiwakes nest.

The sheer scale is amazing and the colour of rocks gives an indication of how long these birds have been present over the generations. The persistence of nature fascinates me. It really does abhor a vacuum.

I put a big version here so you can see individual birds

Comments welcome.

I don't think it quite works at this size Craig, where as larger version works very well, nice one.

Definately the bigger version works better Chris. Certain images just dont work ate the size imposed.

Great image Chris. It gives a real sense of the scale of the cliff.
